Position Summary
  • The Physical Therapist (PT) will deliver therapeutic services to a diverse age range, from young adults to seniors, across various environments including inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, acute care (focused on elective total joint procedures), and outpatient same-day surgery.
Responsibilities
  • Following physician directives, the PT is responsible for evaluating, creating, and executing treatment strategies aimed at preventing and managing health conditions, as well as facilitating rehabilitation.
  • Therapeutic interventions are designed to help patients regain optimal movement patterns and functional abilities through therapeutic exercises, activities, modalities, and educational initiatives that enhance mobility, alleviate discomfort, strengthen physical capabilities, and address impairments stemming from illnesses or injuries.
  • While PTs may be assigned to specific units, they are expected to provide coverage across all units as needed.
  • Specialized teams for trained therapists may include areas such as wound care and lymphedema management.
  • Direct care personnel must complete all curriculum and annual educational modules related to the Hip and Knee Replacement Program.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Required: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Program
    • Preferred: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Experience
    • No prior experience is necessary
  • Skills
    • Strong clinical skills, effective communication, interpersonal abilities, and organizational competencies are essential.
    • A self-driven individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision is required.
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional development through participation in continuing education workshops and application of new techniques is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Active Physical Therapy license in the State of Missouri
    • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment
