Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team as Medical Director. This is a leadership role that requires a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a Master of Science degree in a primary care Nurse Practitioner program and be certified in their area of specialty. They will also have at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse and be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population.

The Medical Director will be responsible for providing day-to-day organizational and clinical direction and leadership of the healthcare provider team. They will perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and establish psychiatric diagnoses based on history, assessment, and diagnostic findings.

The successful candidate will also have highly effective verbal and written communication skills, be able to delegate effectively, and have a strong understanding of industry developments and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day organizational and clinical direction and leadership of the healthcare provider team
  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and establish psychiatric diagnoses
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and design, order, and document appropriate treatment plans
  • Communicate plan of care with appropriate providers and collaborate with clinical providers and leadership regarding admission, discharge, and transfer decisions
  • Delegate effectively and have a strong understanding of industry developments and market trends

Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree in a primary care Nurse Practitioner program
  • Certification in area of specialty
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse

Work Environment:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
