Job Summary

National Power is seeking a highly skilled Generator Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our generator sets and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on generator sets and electrical equipment, including troubleshooting and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches.
  • Conduct load bank testing on generators to ensure they meet applicable code requirements.
  • Assist other technicians with large-scale projects and complex troubleshooting issues.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address equipment-related issues.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred.
  • Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
  • US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician's Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft software, including Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and Adobe (PDFs).
Work Environment

The Generator Service Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent travel to job sites and occasional overnight stays in hotels. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and will have a valid driver's license.
