Job Title: Architectural Historian

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Architectural Historian to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves conducting archival research, architectural and historical resource surveys, and preparing compliance survey reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct archival research and analyze historical data
  • Conduct architectural and historical field surveys, including overnight travel
  • Prepare architectural inventory forms and reports
  • Author historical resources reports and Determination of Eligibility forms
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or related field
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent overnight travel required
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
