Position Overview

The Campus Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Siena College community. This role involves delivering professional services to students, staff, and visitors, as well as conducting safety inspections of campus facilities. Responsibilities include enforcing college policies and applicable laws at various levels. Additional tasks encompass emergency response, patrolling (on foot, by bicycle, or vehicle), traffic management, access control, and providing educational training for the community. Other duties may be assigned by Public Safety Administrators.

The Campus Safety Coordinator also plays a crucial role in facilitating departmental objectives and serves as a liaison between students and the college community.

Work Schedule

Shifts may include hours from 12:00 am to 8:00 am or 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, with weekend availability required.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $18.13.

The stated salary reflects the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in accordance with applicable salary transparency laws.

Qualifications

1) A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree in Criminal Justice is preferred.

2) A minimum of 5 years of experience in security or law enforcement is required.

3) Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and maintain insurability throughout employment.

4) Completion of NYS required eight-hour pre-assignment training certificate is necessary prior to employment.

5) A NYS Security Guard License is required or must be obtained prior to employment and maintained throughout the duration of employment.

6) Experience in a campus environment is advantageous.

7) A background screening will be conducted.
