We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer, NPI to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to Director, NPI Engineering and be based in San Jose, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • As a Principal Electrical Engineer, NPI, you will be supporting the Head of NPI & Product Validation in departmental duties. Manage the team and all NPI related activities. You will take full responsibility to manage the NPI electrical team as required:
  • Assist in the introduction of new products into the company's manufacturing establishment.
  • As part of the Engineering and Manufacturing team, you will be influential in helping the team achieve continuous improvement to Bloom Energy products.
  • The candidate will work with multiple internal stakeholders and will act as an interface between design and manufacture.
  • Provide support and mentoring to the team.
  • Work with a team of engineers to define efficient test and validation routines. Provide support to other functional areas.
  • Manage, control, and co-ordinate NPI engineering elements of a project as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Verify and validate new products. Ensure an effective transfer of the project into production, while ensuring project deadlines and requirements, including regulatory, are achieved.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to product development and manufacturing teams.
  • Work with other personnel to ensure that the product performance, reliability, quality, and cost expectations are met.
  • Generate verification test procedures and test scripts.
  • Generate test reports for internal and external use.
  • Design/update test rig hardware.
  • To ensure production assembly and test processes are designed, optimized, documented, and followed.

Skills Requirement:

  • Must have High Voltage functional Testing experience with AC/DC equipment.
  • Knowledge on developing Test equipment for Bloom Energy products to perform the functional testing.
  • Hardware test automation experience with demonstrable experience in LabView, Python.
  • From time to time, you may be required to travel to customer sites to oversee installation and conduct Site Acceptance Tests. Travel expected Domestic & International 20%-25%.
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering is preferred with 7+ years of related work experience.

Salary Ranges:

$162,400.00 - $233,600.00
