Job Summary:

As a Shipping Clerk - 1st Shift at BJ's Wholesale Club, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by efficiently and effectively completing shipping processes. This includes verifying shipping documents, accurately entering product data, and maintaining organized document management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Train and mentor other team members
  • Print shipping documents as needed
  • Verify scratched product documentation
  • Check loading diagrams against pick job summaries
  • Close, post, ship, and invoice outbound loads
  • Update customers and supervisors on load sheet changes
  • Print delivery documents
  • Run Forklift operator stats
  • Check APT and Time Advantage for accuracy
  • Document outbound trailers
  • Promptly report damage and inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain dock and facility cleanliness
  • Assist Shipping Supervisor with monitoring bins and selectors
  • Cross-train to cover Receiving Clerk functions
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Shipping or warehouse experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to read and understand label data
  • Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS, and other applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly on the phone with customers
  • Ability to do basic math for proper counts and verification
  • Ability to take directions using the headset selection system
Environmental Job Conditions:
  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat frequently in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Able to grasp, reach, push, or pull boxes of product or a hand truck frequently
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently
  • Endurance for continuous, fast-paced work
  • Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
  • Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods
  • Able to work while wearing PPE for the job
  • Ability to handle and be near products containing food allergens
  • Ability to utilize equipment safely and accurately after training
