Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse RN Labor and Delivery PRN to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative support on the unit, working closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient's needs.
  • Coordinate unit activities and ensure accountability of all assigned tasks.
  • Instruct and educate patients and family members on various aspects of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Licensed or license eligible, as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
