Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent physical disabilities.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities, and instruct patients on proper techniques and safety precautions.
  • Monitor patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and communicate with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Fit patients for and adjust orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, and provide training on their use and care.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as charting and data entry, to support departmental operations.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met, and promote positive customer service and a professional work environment.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an approved program for Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Current Texas State licensure (PTA) and CPR/BLS certification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
