Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Research and analyze technical accounting issues, including new accounting standards and pronouncements.
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Review and analyze financial statements and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related matters.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation.
  • Evaluate and document accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support external audit activities.
  • Stay informed about emerging accounting issues and trends.
  • Provide training and guidance to finance and accounting staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards.
  • Experience researching and interpreting complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex accounting concepts.
  • Experience working in a public accounting firm (i.e., Big 4).
  • SOX and SEC reporting experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.
