Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the technician is responsible for the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of engine-driven welding machinery and generators, while ensuring a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to health and safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Conduct repairs and refurbishments on all electric and engine-driven equipment.
- Assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane machinery for rental purposes, ensuring functionality through testing and calibration.
- Maintain the aesthetic condition of equipment by repainting and applying decals.
- Replace faulty components and perform necessary preventative maintenance.
- Procure parts needed for repairs as required.
- Inspect returned equipment for operational integrity and customer damage.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to manage parts inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Complete documentation for all repair activities.
- Occasionally provide on-site service to equipment and customers.
- Maintain effective communication with branch personnel.
- Advise customers on optimal equipment choices for their projects when necessary.
- Perform fieldwork as required.
- Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college program is preferred.
Experience: 2-3+ years of relevant technical experience is required, with a working knowledge of power generation and welding equipment being advantageous.
Licenses/Certifications: A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Major Responsibilities
- Engage in all apprentice activities.
- Complete necessary training programs.
- Perform technical tasks related to electric welding equipment, wire feeder systems, plasma cutting, and engine drives.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: $29-$30 per hour.
- Full-time position with expected hours of 40 per week.
- Benefits include 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, life insurance, and opportunities for advancement.
Work Schedule
- 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
