Job Summary

The Youth Counselor is responsible for providing direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of adolescents through direct and indirect physical and verbal interaction. This includes providing day-to-day supervision, ensuring safety and care for children individually, while in school and in groups. You will also promote and assist adolescents with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene, and grooming, handling individual problems and other activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of adolescents
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and ensure safety and care for children individually, while in school and in groups
  • Promote and assist adolescents with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene, and grooming
  • Handle individual problems and other activities
  • Model and support positive youth development and positive behavioral self-management
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus One (1) year experience with seriously emotionally disturbed children, or Two (2) years' experience with seriously emotionally disturbed adults
  • OR - BA/BS Degree
