Job Summary

The Mental Health Therapist will provide individualized therapeutic services and care coordination to a diverse population of youth and young adults experiencing mental health symptoms. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, and community-based interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to youth and young adults in residential and community settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, caregivers, parents, and participants to improve client functioning at school and home.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop effective community-based interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in mental health treatment.
Requirements
  • M.A. Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
  • Registered associate (AMFT or ACSW, or APCC) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic assessment, individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods, and risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.
  • Current CA Driver's License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year graduate school or post graduate experience working with at-risk youth or young adults.
  • Fluency in prevailing language(s) of the community.
