**Job Summary**
The Behavioral Medicine Specialist plays a critical role in our interdisciplinary team, working closely with medical providers, psychiatric consultants, and other healthcare professionals to improve behavioral health outcomes for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide behavioral health consultation to improve behaviors and mental health conditions, positively impacting patients' overall health goals.
- Collaborate with the primary or specialty care team to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide age- and culturally-appropriate services that demonstrate the Novant Health Mission, Vision, and Values.
**Requirements**
- Education: Graduate degree required (Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field).
- Experience: Minimum of three years experience required.
- Licensure/Certification: LPC, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist, or PMHCNS (North Carolina) required.
- Additional Skills:
- Good working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and medical-based software.
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
- Able to work through brief patient contacts and make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of psycho-pharmacology.
**Estimated Salary:** $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
