We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Specialist to join our team at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods and pastries for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Timely execution of all menu items and creation of bakery products from established recipes.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitized bakery area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Demonstrating ability to produce all recipes on restaurant menus in a consistent manner, meeting menu standards.
- Reporting to work for scheduled shifts, on time and appropriately uniformed.
- Assisting and supporting other bakers to accomplish daily given assignments.
- Accepting direction willingly and following through with delegated tasks, learning and adapting to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively.
- Demonstrating complete knowledge of control in kitchen operation, including portions, wastage, production, plate presentation, and possessing ability to create and execute recipe development and menu specials.
- Taking inventories, placing orders, receiving orders, and carrying out all related tasks.
- Practicing safe food handling and sanitation duties as given by management, ensuring personal hygiene is compliant with health department standards and company policy.
- Assisting other team members as needed without being asked.
- Receiving purchased ingredients, checking and signing all items, and properly storing them as guided.
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A degree or certificate from a major culinary institute.
- 2 years of experience as a baker in a major hotel or food chain.
- Working knowledge of American and European pastries and bread programs.
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization.
- Providing a positive model for co-workers.
- Competitive starting salary of $23.00 per hour.
