We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Specialist to join our team at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods and pastries for our guests.

• Timely execution of all menu items and creation of bakery products from established recipes.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized bakery area, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Demonstrating ability to produce all recipes on restaurant menus in a consistent manner, meeting menu standards.
• Reporting to work for scheduled shifts, on time and appropriately uniformed.
• Assisting and supporting other bakers to accomplish daily given assignments.
• Accepting direction willingly and following through with delegated tasks, learning and adapting to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively.
• Demonstrating complete knowledge of control in kitchen operation, including portions, wastage, production, plate presentation, and possessing ability to create and execute recipe development and menu specials.
• Taking inventories, placing orders, receiving orders, and carrying out all related tasks.
• Practicing safe food handling and sanitation duties as given by management, ensuring personal hygiene is compliant with health department standards and company policy.
• Assisting other team members as needed without being asked.
• Receiving purchased ingredients, checking and signing all items, and properly storing them as guided.
• Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• A degree or certificate from a major culinary institute.
• 2 years of experience as a baker in a major hotel or food chain.
• Working knowledge of American and European pastries and bread programs.
• Strong organization skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization.
• Providing a positive model for co-workers.
