Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures in Angio-Interventional radiology or Neuroradiology service.
  • Provide procedural support for a variety of patient procedures, ensuring efficient and effective care.
  • Operate imaging systems for special procedures, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, employees, and others.
  • Maintain high-quality imaging standards, achieving an error rate of less than 5%.
  • Participate in continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest medical imaging technologies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography, with an Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Eligibility for ARRT (VI) certification, with certification required within one year of hire.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.
  • 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology, with preference given to those with prior experience.
Physical Demands

The job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and reaching. The successful candidate must be able to lift/push/pull lbs. and be exposed to various environmental conditions, including radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
