Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a top-ranked children's hospital in Atlanta, GA. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care to critically ill children, including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Current RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • 2+ years of experience in pediatric intensive care
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with mechanical ventilation and other advanced respiratory therapies
  • Knowledge of pediatric critical care medicine and respiratory care
  • Certification in pediatric advanced life support (PALS)
