Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Expert

Ryder is a trusted leader in the transportation and logistics industry, providing comprehensive vehicle maintenance and repair services to customers across North America. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Expert to join our team in Norton, Massachusetts.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary: $1482.40 per week, based on a 40-hour workweek, or $37.06 per hour
  • Bonus opportunities: Up to $700 per year for ASE certification and up to $500 per quarter for outstanding performance

Job Description:

As a Senior Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic Expert, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles, including diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. You will work independently, using your expertise and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems on heavy-duty vehicles
  • Work with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks
  • Utilize shop management systems and electronic documentation to track work and maintain accuracy

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel mechanics, with a focus on repair and maintenance
  • Valid CDL Class A license required; must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and background check
