- Equipment Utilized: Familiarity with advanced medical equipment such as telemetry systems, infusion pumps, and electronic documentation systems is essential.
- Patient Care Focus: The PCU caters to patients requiring intermediate care for conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, and post-operative recovery.
- Experience: Candidates should have prior experience in cardiac telemetry and critical care settings.
- Advanced Skills: Proficiency in IV insertion, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care is required.
- Procedural Competence: Ability to perform essential procedures such as Foley catheter placement and patient ambulation.
- Work Schedule: The role requires availability for three weekend shifts within a four-week period, with self-scheduling options.
- Floating Policy: Travel RNs may be required to float to other units as needed, based on seniority.
