As a Medical Director for Student Health at Adroit Partners, you will provide primary care services to patients presenting to the Student Health Center. This includes the management of health problems and the promotion of optimal health in both General Medicine and outreach.

This role is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional who wants to lead a team and make a real impact on student health. As a Nurse Practitioner with Adroit Partners, you will be responsible for:

Main Responsibilities

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses, injuries, or exposures per community standards of care; prescribing treatment within scope of practice.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies.
  • Determining which problems are within the scope of practice and which require referral to specialists.
  • Performing minor diagnostic and surgical procedures within scope of practice.
  • Informing patients of risks and benefits of any procedure.
  • Providing well-woman examinations and routine physical examinations.
  • Evaluating, testing for, and treating sexually transmissible diseases.
  • Educating and counseling patients regarding contraceptive management.
  • Facilitating the management of chronic health disorders and acute treatment in the absence of students' primary care or specialty care providers.
  • Planning and offering at least two health-related trainings per semester.
  • Providing in-clinic triage for acute illnesses or injuries with appropriate disposition, including emergency medical services (EMS) calls.
  • Responding to campus emergencies posing severe risk to a person's life prior to EMS arrival.
  • Supervising Medical Assistants and Registered Nurses.
  • Maintaining lists of specialists accepting students' insurance and referring students for extended services from qualified providers.
  • Administering immunizations.
  • Achieving and maintaining Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) accreditation as laboratory manager.
  • Participating in monthly chart reviews with physicians.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills

  • Licensed NP - Master's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Leadership/Office Management skills.
  • Ability to supervise RNs and MAs.
