Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Product Design
  • Designing FPGA/CPU-based solutions across various form factors, including 3U/6U VPX and PCIe.
  • Staying informed about the latest technological advancements and their applications
  • Guiding products from initial concept through to production
  • Ensuring consistency across a specific product line
  • Digital Circuit Design tasks, including:
    • Creating schematics for Xilinx and Intel FPGAs
    • Designing Processor Schematics for Xilinx and Intel, including MPSoC/x86
    • Clock Distribution and Synchronization techniques
    • Implementing Low-Speed Serial Protocols such as I2C and SPI
    • Utilizing High-Speed Serial Protocols including Ethernet (1GbE, 10GbE, 100GbE, etc.), PCIe, Infiniband, Serial Rapid IO (SRIO), JESD204x
    • Power Supply design considerations
    • Designing Optical Interfaces
    • High-Speed Storage Interface development
  • Researching new technologies and devices for incorporation into Annapolis' product line
  • Defining, designing, verifying, and validating products
  • Assisting in the establishment of product requirements
  • Generating comprehensive product specifications
  • Developing plans for prototypes
  • Conducting design validation of prototype circuits and new designs in the lab
  • Collaborating in a team environment to create COTS solutions focused on user needs
  • Producing documentation to support our Firmware and Software Teams in developing software for testing hardware functionality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in board or product design
  • Strong grasp of electrical and computer engineering principles
  • Capability to understand and design complex products with knowledge of processor and FPGA functionalities
  • Ability to devise innovative solutions to high-performance design challenges
  • General familiarity with software and firmware development
  • Basic knowledge of VPX and PCIe systems; advanced knowledge is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required
