Overview

We are actively recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacist II to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, Maryland. This role will involve collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficacious, and cost-effective prescribing, dispensing, administration, and monitoring of medication.

Schedule

The schedule includes mostly day and evening shifts with every other weekend and occasional night shift coverage as needed. The Clinical Pharmacist II will also participate in discharge counseling as part of their daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficacious, and cost-effective prescribing, dispensing, administration, and monitoring of medication.
  • Participate in educational programs to provide basic and advanced services of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Perform drug distribution, supervision, and non-dispensing functions.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree or an equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required.
  • PGY-1 or 3 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Maryland required.
  • Board certification within 1 year of eligibility.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills preferred.
