Physical Therapy Assistant

PACE Southeast Michigan is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Rehabilitation Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality patient care services.
Job Description:This challenging and rewarding role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist occupational or physical therapists with set up, performance, and clean-up of various patient care activities, including exercise, modalities, splint fabrication, and daily living skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up and assisting therapy sessions, including muscle strengthening exercises, splint fabrication, and daily living activities.
- Notifying therapists of changes in patient condition or other concerns pertinent to treatment.
- Keeping patient treatment areas neat, clean, and safe, and cleaning all therapy equipment regularly.
- Working collaboratively with rehabilitation staff to identify supply inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in departmental in-service programs.
- Performing clerical duties as required, and other related tasks as assigned.
**Requirements:**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare setting involving patient care, with certification as a rehabilitation technician or related field highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Compensation:**
We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for advancement.
