Position Overview

As a Crane Operator at Alter Trading Corp, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of cranes within our facility. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading materials from trucks and rail cars, as well as organizing materials in the yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload various customer vehicles, including small to medium trucks and semi-trailers.
  • Sort materials into designated areas to maintain an organized yard.
  • Load trucks and rail cars with scrap materials, ensuring proper handling.
  • Supply the torch cutter with necessary materials for operation.
  • Inspect all outgoing loads to meet yard safety standards, ensuring that rail cars and semi-trailers are secure.
  • Examine all inbound and outbound materials for quality and compliance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the crane, including greasing and oil changes.
  • Operate semi-trucks within the yard to facilitate the movement of scrap materials.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in the yard.
