Job Title: Historic Preservation Consultant

Location: Virginia - Fairfax

We are seeking an experienced Historic Preservation Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services group, you will work on projects that promote historic preservation and sustainable development. This is a challenging role that requires a deep understanding of federal and state regulations, as well as excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 consultation and compliance documents
  • Assess potential impacts of projects on historic resources and historic sites
  • Manage and coordinate necessary field work, provide quality control for field survey documents produced by a subcontractor
  • Lead teams and manage multiple projects with diverse timelines and deliverables
  • Perform analyses to ensure all reasonable alternatives have been evaluated in accordance with criteria and document in written reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Historic Preservation, History, Architectural History or a related subject or field
  • 7 years of related experience, including domestic and/or international travel
  • Must meet the Professional Qualification Standards of the Secretary of Interior Standards under the National Park Service

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
