Job Opportunity

Unitek Learning is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Clinical Instructor to join our team as a Full Time BSN Clinical/Skills Lab Faculty.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality education to students in the skills lab and clinical settings, ensuring they meet the established curriculum and faculty expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Education
    • Plan and deliver educational content in the skills lab and clinical settings, utilizing principles of teaching that recognize the characteristics of the adult learner.
    • Evaluate student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes, providing feedback in a timely manner.
    • Assist in maintaining student records, including clinical and skills lab attendance, completed skills check-off forms, and programmatic outcome data collection.
  • Clinical Experience
    • Provide clinical experience to students in assigned health care facilities, ensuring clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs.
    • Determine the best method to observe, instruct, and evaluate students, making continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and healthcare facility staff, providing access to students for ongoing communication through scheduling of office hours, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
    • Participate in committee activities that support the mission and function of the nursing program, as needed.
  • Professional Development
    • Keep current with innovative technologies and safety regulations, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
    • Submit required program reports and forms to the Academic Site Director of the program in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Hold a valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
    • Eligible for approval by CA BRN as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education, or administration, and academic preparation for the subject they teach.
  • Experience
    • Minimum four-years' experience, with one year in the last five years, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
    • One-year experience teaching courses related to nursing or completion of a course which includes practice in teaching nursing, preferred.
  • Expertise
    • Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, and/or Critical Care.
