Job Summary
This senior-level attorney role will provide strategic guidance and support to Discover's global payments networks, with a focus on regulatory compliance and transactional expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer financial services law and experience advising on complex regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance on regulatory matters, including compliance with laws and regulations related to consumer financial services.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate regulatory risk and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address emerging regulatory topics and best practices.
- Manage and oversee the development of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to consumer financial services.
- Provide training and coaching to internal stakeholders on regulatory matters and compliance best practices.
Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- At least 3 years of experience in consumer financial services law, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
- Active law license in good standing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in consumer financial services law, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
- Experience with contract drafting, review, and analysis, as well as compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
- Payment services experience or familiarity with related regulatory requirements.
