Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Lead to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota. As a key member of our distribution center, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment, creating teamwork amongst your shift and across shift lines, and leading by example to make things better for everyone associated with our company.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure a smooth start to the day, communicate changes and daily workload to team members, and analyze head count for workload and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitor doors and ensure that inbound and outbound procedures are followed, work closely with office staff to ensure consistent workflow to the floor, and monitor pallet truck deliveries to ensure trailers are unloaded and reloaded with repair pallets in a timely fashion.
  • Verify Hot List loads, monitor the floor for safety concerns or infractions, and act appropriately to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner, assist operators, and perform daily tasks when not performing lead duties.
  • Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and free of damages, and that pallets are off the floor and placed into bins.
  • Back up the supervisor in their absence, train and progressive train forklift operators, and promote teamwork within your team and between teams by communicating in a positive and pleasant manner.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Strong Leadership and Inter-Personal skills are required.
  • The successful completion of a Powered Industrial Truck training program is required.
  • The ability to use standard office technology such as a computer, copier/fax machine, and phone system.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effectively read, write, and speak English.
  • Strong math and configuration skills are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • The ability to analyze situations and make the best decision which benefits the company without jeopardizing the health and well-being of the employee.
  • All distribution operators will be provided with MFI approved P.I.T. training/certification at the start of employment.
