Job Background/Context:
The lending segment of CGW provides specialized financing solutions, including aircraft financing, art-backed loans, law firm financing, as well as commercial and residential real estate financing, margin lending, and customized lending solutions for target market clients of the Private Bank.
Wealth Credit Management (WCM) plays a vital role as the first line of defense in credit risk management. The primary responsibilities of this group encompass credit evaluation, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring, and the administration associated with Citi Global Wealth lending operations.
Within WCM, the Portfolio Strategy and Governance team is tasked with overseeing the strategic management of portfolio processes on a global scale. This includes (i) developing superior portfolio analytics, (ii) coordinating a global portfolio management framework to ensure standardization, timely identification of credit concerns, and necessary remedial actions, (iii) establishing portfolio and product limits, and (iv) leading stress testing in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and develop the credit risk analytical framework to support portfolio management activities related to CGW's credit portfolio.
- Acquire product expertise across various credit offerings, including commercial real estate, structured lending (including illiquid collateral), aircraft financing, art financing, and law firm financing.
- Support the formulation and continuous review of portfolio and product-level limits.
- Assist in the development of the portfolio risk life-cycle, including risk taxonomy, identifying credit trends and emerging risks to calibrate risk appetite, and translating these into portfolio/product limits.
- Take a leading role in implementing portfolio-level analytics, business-led stress testing, and an Early Warning Indicators (EWI) framework.
- Collaborate with the CGW Independent Risk function and portfolio management teams in Institutional Credit Management (ICM) to ensure process consistency across the organization.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of enhanced processes and risk infrastructure improvements, partnering with technology teams as necessary.
- Assist with additional Senior Management requirements, including data aggregation and presentation preparation.
- 4-6 years of experience in risk management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative or financial discipline.
- Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Proficient in collaboration and partnership building.
- Experience in wholesale credit risk or Wealth Management credit is a significant advantage.
