Job Overview

Friends of Switchpoint Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing poverty and homelessness in Utah since 2014, seeks an experienced Community Housing Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will empower individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive case management services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Caseworker Services: Develop and implement client-driven case plans with clear short-term and long-term objectives, ensuring steady progress towards achieving goals.
  • Housing Support: Assist clients in securing affordable housing that suits their budget and grant requirements, fostering a smooth transition from homelessness to permanent residence.
  • Training and Education: Design and coordinate Life Skills, Tenancy, Finance/Budgeting, and other training programs aimed at enhancing decision-making and life skills.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate client files, documenting conversations, warnings, progress, and incidents. Ensure timely completion of assessments, VISPDATs, SPDATs, case management logs, exit surveys, and incident reports.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Human Services Experience: Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, including mentally ill, disabled, substance abusers, etc.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Proven ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, resolve conflicts, and LISTEN effectively.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to remain compassionate and firm while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, UHMIS, and ability to learn new software.
