Job Summary

This is an entry-level position that provides machining assistance in support of the machining department and client requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, cleaning, and operating machinery for the fabrication of parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data to calculate correct part dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment.
  • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts meet quantity and quality requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
  • Read instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts within a.001 tolerance.
  • Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Blueprint reading capabilities with GD&T.
  • Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Flexible, courteous, friendly, and positive approach.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat, and tidy.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/Sit - Moderate physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. and above.

This position requires activities involving being around moving machinery, loud noises, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
