Job Description

Job Summary:

The Miller Milling Co. is seeking a highly skilled Mill Relief Technician to provide operational support within our mills. This role will provide relief to the Assistant Miller role when necessary and will be responsible for reviewing the monitoring and inspection of the product, equipment, and processing steps of raw ingredients through finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mill Support:
    • Assist the mill crew with mill start-up and operation.
    • Provide support to the Maintenance department and assist with mill repairs.
    • Maintain general equipment in good working order.
  • Milling:
    • Review and manage the flow sheet of each mill to optimize yield and throughput.
    • Identify and assist with the resolution of problems in the mills.
    • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
    • Clean work areas and equipment.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Conduct laboratory analysis accurately and precisely.
    • Comply with prescribed test procedures and sample handling protocols.
    • May be responsible for providing supervision to hourly mill personnel.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience as a utility or equivalent related milling experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds.
  • Effective communication skills – written and verbal.
