Forensic Structural Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Structural Engineer to join our team at Haag, a Salas O'Brien company. This role involves investigating and evaluating the cause and extent of damage following various types of catastrophes.

Job Overview:

As a Forensic Structural Engineer, you will work independently and with a cross-functional team to investigate construction/design defects, accidents, and other types of catastrophes. Your primary responsibilities include analyzing damage, preparing detailed reports, and testifying in court as an expert witness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the cause and extent of damage to buildings and structures
  • Analyze data and prepare detailed reports on findings
  • Testify in court as an expert witness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for resolving complex issues

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Washington state (or eligible by reciprocity)
  • 2+ years' experience in forensic engineering is preferred
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed
