Virginia Mason Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist with expertise in Therapeutic Endoscopy to enhance our esteemed Gastrointestinal Department. This role will primarily be based at our central facility, with additional opportunities at our affiliated medical centers.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of our advanced care institution, which has recently integrated with CHI Franciscan, you will be positioned at the forefront of specialized gastrointestinal services. Our downtown Seattle facility serves as the primary center for both specialized and subspecialized GI care, recognized for its excellence in therapeutic practices within the Pacific Northwest. We are actively expanding our GI service offerings, which includes enhancing our academic presence and further developing our centers of excellence. Our established therapeutic endoscopy fellowship program provides ample opportunities for education, training, and clinical research. Additionally, we are launching a general gastroenterology fellowship program.
This role offers a unique opportunity to focus on the management of complex gastrointestinal cases within a collaborative team environment, supported by exceptional staff and seamless access to a robust diagnostic and interventional radiology team, along with fellow medical and surgical specialists. Our GI Section features a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite located in our new medical facility, adjacent to interventional radiology.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled clinician with outstanding communication and team-building abilities, dedicated to patient-centered care. We seek individuals who are motivated to develop their practice and have an interest in teaching, research, and collaborative medicine. Candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our innovative process improvement initiatives, aimed at enhancing patient experiences and optimizing healthcare delivery, will be highly regarded. While leadership experience is not mandatory, there are opportunities for those interested in taking on leadership roles.
Qualifications- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Fellowship training in Advanced Endoscopy
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington
- Ability to secure a DEA with full prescriptive authority for the practice
