The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is looking for a skilled Culinary Specialist to support the preparation and presentation of food for various events, including weddings, corporate meetings, and large gatherings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize cooking stations with all essential supplies.
  • Assist in food preparation for service, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and creating sauces.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to cook menu items efficiently.
  • Adhere to directives from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations and manage leftover food appropriately.
  • Accurately stock and rotate inventory to ensure freshness.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality food service, with all dishes ready to serve simultaneously.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, including nutrition and sanitation standards.
  • Foster a positive and professional relationship with colleagues and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated culinary experience, particularly in roles such as restaurant cook or prep cook.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Ability to execute tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education:

  • Completion of culinary school is advantageous.
