Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints or other technical specifications.
  • Align components using jacks, turnbuckles, overhead cranes, pins, wedges, and hammers.
  • Measure components according to specified dimensions.
  • Identify and organize parts for assembly in the correct sequence.
  • Utilize cutting and washing techniques with a torch (Oxy Fuel or Plasma).
  • Tack weld components together to form initial assemblies.
  • Utilize grinders to eliminate high spots and ensure smooth finishes.
  • Conduct inspections to verify that completed work meets company specifications.
  • Perform repairs for testing purposes as necessary.
  • Act as a resource for problem-solving for fellow team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a welder under AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical specifications.
  • Skill in aligning parts using various tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in measuring to precise specifications.
  • Experience in identifying parts for assembly in the correct order.
  • Capability to cut and wash with a torch (Oxy Fuel or Plasma).
  • Experience in tack welding components together.
  • Ability to use grinders for finishing work.
  • Competence in inspecting work to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Willingness to perform repairs for testing as required.
  • Ability to assist others in problem-solving scenarios.
