About the Role

As an Echocardiography Technologist at UNC Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients. Your expertise in rendering echocardiograms, carotid doppler studies, and transesophageal echos will help achieve the highest standards of care specific to the age of the patient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality diagnostic testing to patients and their families.
  • Conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and hospital.
  • Ensure that contacts with physicians and other customers are conducted in a manner that displays superior customer service skills.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with a background in a related healthcare field (Cardiopulmonary or Ultrasound preferred).
  • Two years of experience in an Ultrasound field preferred.
  • Registered Ultrasound tech preferred; also prefer license by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Call back required as outlined by the CPS Manager.
  • Subject to stressful work periods.

Physical Requirements

  • Walking and standing, sitting, pushing the Echo/Vascular machine up and down hallways, turning patients and assisting them from one place to another, as well as, moving rooms around in order to make room for Echo/Vascular machine.
