Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Crane Rigger to join our team at Atlantic Coast Hauling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rigging techniques and equipment, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and prepare lifting equipment to ensure it is in good condition and suitable for the task.
- Set up cranes and rigging according to the lift plan and site requirements.
- Signal or verbally direct crane operators during lifting operations to ensure safe and precise movements.
- Calculate load weights, center of gravity, and crane capacities to ensure safe lifting operations.
- Ensure that all rigging work complies with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on rigging equipment.
- Assist in planning and coordinating lifting operations with other team members and site supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all rigging equipment is stored properly.
- Identify potential hazards and take corrective action to mitigate risks.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced rigging personnel.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Crane Rigger (NCCER, NCCCO, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a crane rigger in construction or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and load charts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction or industrial sites.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots is required.
