Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Crane Rigger to join our team at Atlantic Coast Hauling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rigging techniques and equipment, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and prepare lifting equipment to ensure it is in good condition and suitable for the task.
  • Set up cranes and rigging according to the lift plan and site requirements.
  • Signal or verbally direct crane operators during lifting operations to ensure safe and precise movements.
  • Calculate load weights, center of gravity, and crane capacities to ensure safe lifting operations.
  • Ensure that all rigging work complies with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on rigging equipment.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating lifting operations with other team members and site supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all rigging equipment is stored properly.
  • Identify potential hazards and take corrective action to mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced rigging personnel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Crane Rigger (NCCER, NCCCO, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a crane rigger in construction or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret lift plans, blueprints, and load charts.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor construction or industrial sites.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and hazardous materials.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots is required.
