  • Employ the coding software to organize codes and determine the relevant MS-DRG/APR DRG/APC classifications.
  • Input patient data into electronic systems, guaranteeing data integrity.
  • Work in conjunction with the Clinical Documentation Improvement Team for any necessary clarifications.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and coding regulations.
  • Uphold coding standards and exhibit expertise in coding intricate medical records.

The Medical Coding Specialist 2 will also mentor junior team members and contribute to departmental training initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • National certification in health information management coding (CCS).
  • Comprehensive understanding of coding standards and medical vocabulary.
  • Proficiency in coding software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • At least two years of experience in acute care coding.
  • Capability to work autonomously and effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with the coding leadership team.
