We are in search of a Software Development Engineer in Test with a robust background in machine learning, audio-visual technologies, and conversational AI.

Your mission will be to ensure the high quality of AIML products while collaborating with some of the most innovative product development teams globally.

This team is responsible for crafting and developing evaluation tools, automation frameworks, and methodologies that empower product teams across Apple to create machine-learning solutions that enhance user experiences.

You will engage with cutting-edge product teams throughout Apple, applying your expertise and passion for innovation to tackle technical challenges for our next-generation offerings.


Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will take ownership of the qualification of spatial perception, a crucial component for activating Siri and other Apple user experiences through AIML technologies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing product evaluation, automation, and testing methodologies.
  • Utilizing innovative AI models to create applications and testing solutions based on Apple's advanced technologies.
  • Designing and implementing testing solutions and automation frameworks for quality insights.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align research, messaging, and contribute to product roadmaps.
  • Prototyping and testing new ideas, bringing research to fruition.
  • Ensuring the testing, maintenance, and delivery of features that enhance user experiences with Siri and other AIML products.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass data insights, designing and implementing product quality measures, and converting research findings into actionable quality improvements. You will also work closely with product teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Writing clean, maintainable, and production-ready code with appropriate documentation and tests will be essential. You will contribute to architectural decisions, design reviews, and peer code evaluations.


Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • 10+ years as a Software Development Engineer.
  • 4+ years in designing and architecting tools and frameworks.
  • Expertise in dataset management and analysis for product quality insights.
  • Proficient in statistics-based evaluation methodologies and user success metrics.
  • Deep understanding of ML concepts, including data utilization for ML, experimentation, and analytics.
  • Experience in analyzing user behavior and designing test strategies and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and generative AI applications.

Preferred:

  • Experience with conversational AI technologies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Apple's research and products.
  • Experience with audio signal processing and analysis.
  • Background in computer vision and robotics.

Compensation and Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. The base pay for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees can also participate in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases.
