Purchasing Agent required to support procurement process for single-family and multi-family home construction projects. Key responsibilities include supplier management, material procurement, cost analysis, inventory management, and compliance with company policies.

**Job Description:

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability criteria.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Material Procurement:

  • Coordinate the procurement of materials and supplies required for construction projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling requirements.

Cost Analysis:

  • Analyze costs, pricing trends, and market conditions to optimize purchasing decisions and achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control systems to minimize stockouts and excess inventory, optimizing cash flow and project timelines.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.

Communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including project managers, design teams, and accounting, to coordinate purchasing activities and support project milestones.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing, preferably within the construction or related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. Candidates with substantial experience in purchasing for a home builder or related company will be considered if they do not have a degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
