As a Personal Financial Counselor, you will provide expert financial guidance and support to military service members and their families, helping them achieve financial stability and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one financial counseling and education to service members and their families, addressing a range of financial topics including budgeting, saving, and debt management.
  • Develop and deliver financial education programs and workshops, including briefings, presentations, and group counseling sessions.
  • Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program meets the needs of the installation and provides high-quality services.
  • Manage duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
  • Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned.
  • Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; may consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; may be required to be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Must have over a thousand hours of financial counseling experience.
  • Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
