Job Overview

SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing and conducting the analysis, management, and supervision of diverse chemistry and biochemistry policies, programs, and practices. This role involves providing expert feedback and guidance regarding the examination of materials, products, and devices, utilizing intermediate to advanced technical knowledge in chemistry and biochemistry, as well as related instrumentation and testing methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts intermediate to advanced analysis to support various testing of materials, products, and devices using a range of analytical instruments, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and documents testing results with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Oversees the completion and processing of various chemistry and biochemistry forms, documents, databases, and related information.
  • Provides expert analysis, interpretation, and guidance to staff and management regarding chemistry and biochemistry policies and practices, facilitating operational improvements and change management.
  • Researches and resolves inquiries from management and employees, coordinating customer feedback and resource allocation as necessary.
  • Continuously analyzes and reviews operations, results, and related chemistry and biochemistry data to identify trends, draw conclusions, and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Ensures the integrity of tests, equipment, and operational databases through regular audits and reviews, collaborating with teams to address discrepancies.
  • Participates in the development of chemistry and biochemistry project objectives, including budget proposals, timelines, and resource requirements, while presenting information to management.
  • Maintains, prepares, and calibrates laboratory equipment and samples, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Interprets and applies departmental policies and relevant regulations, seeking guidance as needed.
  • Enhances departmental efficiency and effectiveness by contributing suggestions and actively participating in team initiatives.
  • Promotes the mission of Pace Analytical by engaging courteously and cooperatively with customers and colleagues, fostering a positive workplace environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field, along with two years of relevant experience in chemistry or biochemistry, particularly with complex programs or operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced principles and techniques in chemistry and biochemistry.
  • Understanding of the administration and oversight of chemistry and biochemistry programs and policies.
  • Ability to resolve complex chemistry and biochemistry issues and inquiries.
  • Familiarity with applicable chemistry and biochemistry laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of various testing tools and calibration methods.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and systems.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff and customers.
  • Strong command of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Required Skills:

  • Performing advanced professional-level chemistry and biochemistry tasks across various assignments.
  • Overseeing and managing diverse chemistry and biochemistry functions.
