Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator

The Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator will be responsible for greeting patients, activating patient files, and moving patients through a pre-determined schedule of appointments. This role requires a high commitment to service excellence and facilitating all patient healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities- Answer calls following company scripts and adhere to telephone etiquette.
- Ensure all calls are followed up and/or returned before the end of each workday.
- Direct patients throughout the center and conduct all activities in a polite, courteous, and professional manner.
- Promote and reinforce patient-centered medical home concepts with patients and staff.
- Verify patients' health insurance for eligibility and check in/out patients in a timely manner.
- Request in-network referrals as ordered by the primary care physician upon checkout.
- Scan patient documents, such as patient registration forms, insurance cards, and identification cards, in the Electronic Health Record.
- Schedule patient appointments as needed and sort and distribute faxes.
- Collect patient payments and ensure payments are properly recorded and processed.
- Prepare patient co-pays for the Billing Department and balance receipts for deposit.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify and update patient demographic information on all encounters and prepare the transportation list for the next workday.
- Confirm appointments for the following workday and call patients who did not show up for their appointments to reschedule.
- Assist with HEDIS processes and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer knowledge: MS Word and MS Excel, internet, document with Electronic Health Records and/or authorization system with minimal typing/spelling errors, send e-faxes and email.
- Excellent and strong people skills; independent decision-making and customer service-oriented.
- Receptionist/clerical experience required; healthcare environment preferred

- Able to follow policies, procedures, work flexible schedules, and locations
- Able to work with the Practice Management and/or Electronic Health Record System
