Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure developmentally appropriate care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive plan of care that meets the needs of patients and their families.
- Work independently, receiving minimal guidance, and make complex decisions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, leading projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
- Oversee care delivered by patient care teams, coordinate plans of care, and ensure patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
- Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care, using clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and patient care teams, demonstrating sensitivity to recognize, appreciate, and incorporate differences related to diversity.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement plans of care that promote patient outcomes.
- Advocate for patients, represent their concerns, and identify and assist in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters, ensuring Patient Health Information (PHI) is protected and secured at all times.
- Adhere to all infection prevention initiatives, delivering competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic EKG course within one year of hire.
- Current AHA BLS Certification.
- Current AHA ACLS Certification.
- Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Master's degree).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
