Job Description

Position Overview

The main focus of this role is to deliver comprehensive training to Quality Control personnel, both new and existing. The Training Specialist will collaborate across departments to facilitate access to various quality management systems as needed. This position is accountable for conducting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) training, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) training, and training related to investigations and audits for all laboratory staff, while also maintaining the training matrix.

2. Various Regulatory Bodies including FDA and EU

Reporting Line

Reports directly to the Associate Director of Quality Control.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete user request forms for new employees requiring access to relevant laboratory software, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Deliver foundational EHS training through compliance platforms.
  • Organize classroom sessions for essential SOPs and provide detailed information to new hires.
  • Share general laboratory information regarding the storage of standards, chemicals, and columns.
  • Conduct practical training for on-the-job competencies including LOD, Balance, pH, Titration, Dissolution, HPLC, GC, Malvern, KF, FTIR, etc. The trainer is responsible for overseeing on-the-job training for each technique, which consists of two phases:
    • DT: Trainee performs tasks under the trainer's supervision.
    • FT: Trainee demonstrates the ability to perform tasks independently.
  • Coordinate with laboratory management to update the training matrix for new employees and ensure all necessary training is provided.
  • Perform testing of raw materials and/or finished products when not engaged in training new hires.
  • Execute tasks assigned by management to support business operations.
Required Competencies

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, strong proficiency in Empower and LIMS, and adeptness with MS Office applications.

This role demands a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

Experience

A minimum of 5 to 7 years of testing experience, including at least 2 years in raw materials testing and 2 years in finished products testing, utilizing techniques such as HPLC, GC, Malvern, KF, FTIR, XRD, and Dissolutions.

Minimum Educational Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry or Biology).
