Summit Technical Solutions, LLC is in search of a dedicated Engineering and Project Management Specialist to provide essential support to our esteemed clients in the defense sector.
This role involves overseeing comprehensive assessments to ensure that operational units are equipped to fulfill their missions effectively.
The Specialist will play a crucial role in formulating policies for critical operations, including the development of innovative tactics and procedures.
Additionally, this position will involve executing operational testing programs to confirm that systems meet the necessary requirements for operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Job functions encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
- Deliver engineering expertise to support major infrastructure initiatives across various installations. Engage in planning, requirement development, cost estimation, and engineering management for complex, multi-phase projects that span multiple engineering disciplines.
- Facilitate planning and programming for new and updated requirements at various sites. Collaborate within an engineering team to assist in project planning, surveying, scope definition, cost estimation, and phased scheduling.
- Assess and provide recommendations to the Government regarding requests for new construction, renovations, and facility enhancements. Offer technical advisory support on emerging technologies to ensure that developments remain relevant.
- Advise on the validity, feasibility, and efficiency of proposed projects, considering constraints such as scheduling and manpower. Support the creation of independent Government cost estimates (IGCEs) for various initiatives.
- Manage engineering processes for project oversight. Collaborate with organizational leaders, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to secure approvals for proposed construction and maintenance projects.
- Assist in the inspection and oversight of assigned projects. Utilize knowledge of engineering principles to discuss discrepancies and potential solutions with project teams.
- Contribute to project life-cycle reviews and post-construction evaluations, including lessons learned.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in facility project planning, programming, and management at the base level or MAJCOM level. Experience with MILCON project planning is highly desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering or project management support, with professional licensing preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in documenting engineering objectives and requirements.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a Graduate STEM degree is required.
