Job Responsibilities

  • Observe patients, assess their progress, and report significant changes to supervising RNs.
  • Interact with patients one-on-one, providing recreational or social activities and reinforcing teaching.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.
  • Provide care and monitoring of patients in seclusion and/or restraint.
  • Ensure patient safety by implementing safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience working with patients with substance abuse, mental health, dementia diagnosis, intellectually or disabled preferred.
  • Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Emergency Medical Technician, or Behavioral Health Technician.

Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A competitive salary range of $35,000 - $50,000 per annum is offered, depending on experience. The estimated annual salary for this role in Durham, North Carolina, is approximately $42,400.
