About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Health Technician - Float Pool Day Shift Opportunity to join our team at Duke University. As a member of our float pool, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various behavioral health settings.
Job Responsibilities
- Observe patients, assess their progress, and report significant changes to supervising RNs.
- Interact with patients one-on-one, providing recreational or social activities and reinforcing teaching.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.
- Provide care and monitoring of patients in seclusion and/or restraint.
- Ensure patient safety by implementing safety and infection control guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working with patients with substance abuse, mental health, dementia diagnosis, intellectually or disabled preferred.
- Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor, Emergency Medical Technician, or Behavioral Health Technician.
Working Conditions
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A competitive salary range of $35,000 - $50,000 per annum is offered, depending on experience. The estimated annual salary for this role in Durham, North Carolina, is approximately $42,400.
