Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Analyst at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests
• Assess specimens for correct handling and quality
• Confirm the accuracy of test results and report findings to physicians
• Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments
• Perform and evaluate quality control procedures
• Maintain competencies and continuing education to stay current with new developments in the field

Requirements:

• Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education
• No experience required
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Rare climbing

Professional Certifications:

• Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Association for Bioanalysts (AAB)
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (International Included) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)

Work Environment:

• Evening Shift (United States of America)
• Laboratory setting
