Position Overview

Capitol House Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking dedicated Full-Time Respiratory Therapists (RT) for Night Shifts and PRN Respiratory Therapists (RT) for various shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and have graduated from an accredited AMA Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Possess a solid understanding of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing and medical practices, as well as the regulations and guidelines governing long-term care.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts.
  • Strong patient care focus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer comprehensive respiratory therapeutic services, including oxygen therapy, medical gas administration, humidification, and suction treatments.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of patient/resident procedures, organize and analyze relevant data, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent patient/resident information to the appropriate medical staff and caregivers.
  • Provide educational support to staff regarding respiratory therapy practices.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by identifying and recommending process enhancements.
  • Monitor patient/resident progress and adjust respiratory care plans as necessary.
